Should have never allowed to sell the spot to begin with; that should have been done away with years ago.

2500-3500 bucks for a $250 row boat was not what access program should have ever been about.

Now if they can put some teeth into it and not allow back alley deals, thats the only problem in enforcement.

If you go to the NYC DEP website, look under "watershed recreation", and they have the info on meetings and link to rule change PDF (69 pages long!). Hearings are July 24th in Carmel, July 26th in Margaretville, and August 1st in Flushing. There are some changes which will be good for most, such as allowing battery operated ice augurs EOH, but many problematic ones such as Frank pointed out above.

Sorry, but no. Some of the targets I'm using are not made for them.

COLD & WARM WATER FISHING / DEP boating changes

Not sure if you guys are aware but DEP is planning some fairly drastic changes to boating regulations on the reservoirs. The two biggies are all boats MUST be stored at least 10' from the high water mark. At some crowded boat areas, especially EOH waters, this new regulation is enormously inconvenient, in some boat areas, impossible to achieve.
Second, they are planning to do away with boat transferring on all closed reservoirs, and closed boat areas on an otherwise open reservoir. In other words, you will not be allowed to sell your boat, or even pass it down to your kids. Once you no longer want it or god forbid become unable to use it or die, your spot at that reservoir is no longer yours, you must either remove the boat, or I guess you could just abandon it and make it DEP's problem.
There are public hearings to voice your displeasure, or you could email or write and mail a letter, but please make your voice heard.
