So,,, you're OK with the state deciding in what manner you keep your property.
To prevent a criminal from committing a crime?
Make no sense to me.

The gun owners in Washington state got the shaft. Signing away the privacy of your medical records so you can posses a (newly defined) "assault weapon", legal responsibility if a criminal breaks in and steals your gun, and a slew of other BS.

My biggest problem with it is the way it was phrased on the ballot, definitely mad it sound way less overreaching. 5.5 MILLION was spent by the anti gun groups to get this passed.

Don't worry NYS will make this look downright peachy by next year...

Not that I agree with the measure, but it does say if you secure the firearms properly (trigger locks, safes etc) that you can't be charged if somebody breaks in and later commits a crime (as long as you report the burglary) and I don't see where it mentions signing away your medical records.  If it does mention medical records, I do not agree with that because where do they decide to draw the line in the future?  Unless that's under the "enhanced background check"

edit:  I found where it mentions medical records:

"In the Revised Code of Washington, a signed application to purchase a pistol constitutes a waiver of confidentiality so that any inquiring court or law enforcement agency may request a mental health institution or other health care facility to release information relevant to a person's eligibility to purchase a pistol. The measure would expand this provision to include the application for and purchase of semiautomatic assault rifles."

Good job Greensider.  I saw 1 the other night walking into my stand.  I would have shot it if given the opportunity.  It was a good looking coyote.
