As of Saturday there was good ice on Copake Lake.   Fished Saturday 4 - 6 PM action was slow picked up and released a 16" smallie and a very gravid 19 " pickerel on a small jigging spoon .  Closed out the evening with a fatty 11" yellow perch .  Also lots of commotion on the lake snowmobile racing and an iceboat.

Copake lake has really slowed down from other years.  The lake association is trying to make it a giant swimming pool with all the weed killers they are putting in there.  I started fishing there 40 years ago and the fish population is way down.

Slowed right down only two gills and three largemouth on tip ups. Five gills and a pumpkinseed for my friend. Only two days left , transitioning to open water on Saturday.

Ended the ice season Thursday morning at Chodikee with three gills and a largemouth. It was a good season for sure. Ready for the reservoirs & stripers!
